I finally got out to hunt in North Carilina. I got this 7point (weighed in at 127 lbs.) with the 450, 100 yards broadside. Hit the near side shoulder and he jumped into the underbrush. A very short (about 15, 20 yards) tracking job and that was that. Just missed the bone in the shoulder, destroyed the lungs and heart. Now this is just one deer so nothing conclusive for sure but the new bullet did the job here. I also shot a nice doe that weighed 118 lbs. This one I spine shot and had to finish with my pistol. I hate that but it happens. She dropped right where I hit her at around 85 yards. When we skinned her out the spine was smashed right above the shoulder area and the neck meat was hamburger. Just as a side note the shot from the 357 SIG Glock really messed up the lungs and the exit wound from the 125 gr. Speer Gold Dots was about the diameter of a silver dollar. Impressive. I did get another deer but that was with my 30'06. Also didn't go far. All in all a pretty good week of hunting and so far at least the new bullet looks like it works pretty well. No bullet recovery by the way.
