That is cool. What does it weigh?

Nice wood is it's own reward!

I actually saw one like it in a gun rag back in I think 2010. I believe it had burl wood, which is even more odd on such a usually dull personality platform as the AR. It is refreshing in this tacticool day and age to see a forearm that doesn't look like the sole of a hiking boot. It truly looks like a labor of love.

I dont know exactly. I don't have a scale, but is a little heavy. Not too bad. To me it's worth it for the looks!

Thanks for your reply on the weight. I thought, as you suggest, that removing the metal bits and putting on wood be almost breakeven.

Well here's mine, finally the way I wanted it.

A Magpul MOE carbine handguard will fit without any problems to the 16" upper. Parts needed are, non floating handguard barrel nut, spring washer, snap ring, and front end cap. Of course the handguard, which I had from another upper. Also received the scope and mount I had ordered. Now to get it back out and resighted in.

As I said, this is more better! My "new" Indiana deer hunting rifle.

Very cool rifle there, Trident! Can't complain about Bullwinkle, either...

Have you considered making forearm assemblies with a matching "dipped" finish, like they do with Realtree, etc.?
