I thought Dawg had set up an area for this type of posting, but I be dawg gone if I can find it..
So again today, for the third time, I grab two standard mags (30 rounders), off the pile at random, reach into the bag for two black followers, dissembling the mags to remove the std. followers from the std.mags, I replaced them with the randomly chosen black followers.
Loading the mags, both took twelve rounds, I commenced to firing.
With less than thirty seconds to replace the Followers, I was rewarded with 24 consecutive, flawlessly functioning shots. So, I reloaded and did it again..Humm..Situation Normal.. And this is the third time I've done this, since the Followers came in.
A couple of days ago I did have one thirty rounder that only held nine rounds. I did not take the time to discover why. But it too functioned flawlessly. Prolly the mag and or the follower, just needed a little tweak.
Here in MI, we can only have five round mags for hunting whitetails. So, a duck plug arrangement is necessary. Traditionally, I just whittle on a stick, placing it between the mag spring and the floor plate. But for the last many years, I just substitute the stick for loaded rounds. They can't function through the mag, of course, and Constitutes a legal duck plug, here in MI and in a true survival situation I'd have 7 extra rounds with the rifle..
