GLFA upper

I went to purchase a Ruger 450 Bushmaster AR style. I was appalled by the quality. I decided to take the chance online and order a Great Lakes Fire Arm upper. I’m not sure it was better or worse than the Ruger I looked at. My problems include, casting quality and milling. As if they didn’t finish. What gives?

Thanks!

I bought a bushmaster upper from PSA and haven’t seen that issue at all.

I don't have any experience with either. I have heard some of the same points on finish with the Ruger's. I have also heard the stock feels flimsy and cheap, but honestly, you can't expect much for $400-450 these days. With that said, they still seem to be good shooter's.

I haven't heard a whole lot about GLFA, but from the little I have heard, they are GTG. In all honesty, the 450B seems to be a very forgiving cartridge. Even BCA 450B barrels, that are $80, appear to do quite well.

Just buy the whole rifle for $665 and if you have trouble, Ruger will fix it for you...
