Retro style build question, delta ring

Hi, i'm new to this forum and shooting .450 BM
I am trying to build a retro style rifle and want to know if a standard barrel nut and delta ring assembly will work on a .450 barrel. I am looking at an 18" barrel with a mid length gas system. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks in advance

Okay. Yes. The standard Delta Ring and barrel nut work fine. However, if I were getting a 18” barrel, I would only buy one that was drilled for the carbine length gas system. Everything is engineered to run fine with Mil-Spec parts except for the bolt.
Bear in mind, I’m shooting a 20” barrel with a 1:24” twist and it is a carbine length gas impingement system.
Now. If the barrel is a 1:16” and 18” long with a mid length gas system, the faster twist “might” give you a
little more pressure. But the 1:24” twist barrels between 16”-20” work fine with the carbine length gas system.

Just don't understand why any manufacture would put a mid-length buffer tube on a 450 BM....factory ammo should work OK if you start to work with different weigh bullets and powders .....have fun some will work some will not....

I think you meant to say mid length gas system. But yeah. I don’t understand why they’re using mid length either. It’s not how it was engineered.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but my Bartz 20" 1:24 tube has a mid length gas system. It digests everything I have fed it. 200's, 225's, 230's, 240's, 250's, 275's, pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp... ;)

Thanks for the advice, the barrel i am looking at is 1:24 18"
I want mid length because i am trying to build a A1 style big bore rifle with wood furniture and can get a triangular handguard in mid length.

Depending on the diameter of the barrel beyond the gas port you might be able to install the FSB at the midlength point on the barrel while utilizing a carbine gas system. My mock-Dissy 16" A2 build has the FSB @ rifle length while running the prefereable carbine gas system length.
