Thanks! I’m glad to see there’s still some active users on the forum.

I’ll give the AR another chance in 450 this year. I first put one together back in 2013 with a factory 20” Bushmaster upper, but had issues with the bolt going into battery at the worst possible times… like the two times it wasn’t fully seated when I raised up on a deer.

About 7-years ago I had a custom 450 barrel made for an Encore and used it for a few seasons. Last year I took a very silly 450 (bolt-action AR, SBR w/9” barrel), and it didn’t have the velocity to whack them like the 450 usually does.

I had some parts lying around, and a bolt/barrel later I was back in the semi-auto 450 business.
I’m hopeful things go better this time around, but I haven’t sold the Encore (or my 2 other 450’s).

I was never sure if there was something wrong with the upper or if it just didn’t like the XTP loads we use.

I’m still here. I read almost every post.
It’s just that right now, I’m trying to catch up
on 6 years worth of projects and chores that had to
be put on the back burner due to my moms illness
and my continuing health issues.
But things are slowly getting better.
I’m really wanting to get some bench and range time,
but right now, I’ve got too many irons in the fire.
