I know of one so far, let's see if more show up.

The crimp relies upon the jacket resisting compression. I tried them and they were a nightmare. They sometimes shed their jacket at 450b speeds, sending pieces downrange. My optical chrony has two shards permanently embedded in the display. Wound up using the remaining ones as slingshot ammo. This has been covered in the Reloading for the 450b sub-forum. Hint: Use Google's forum search as explained here

Thanks for the heads up on the plated bullets. Can't wait for a friend to finish casting and putting gas checks on 275 grain HPs that I want to try. He's going to poly coat them after the GCs are applied.

Can't shoot the rifle yet, still waiting for GO gauge. A friend who does casting is running me off some 275 grain cast gas check bullets to try in it when it's up and running.

I was lucky enough to buy Heavy barrels. Have not done anything to the stocks. I have them on some hard kickers with no problems.
I've been searching on line trying to find a heavy barrel channel factory Axis stock with no luck so far.

Boyd's has short action bull stocks, Axis.

They make fun of these stocks, but they have held up to near 5000 ft pounds of recoil.

Got my mould, still working on my casting skills- or lack there of- and looking for data for the 400gr bullet, have been following GaCop's progress with interest.

In the meantime seem to have found a load that works well with the 300gr XTP Mag, 33gr of IMR4227 pushes them to 1725fps, not screaming but single digit SDs and accuracy is ok- this is 300 yards.

Damn pic is too big!

What kind of accuracy are you getting at 300? I've been getting good accuracy with the 300 grain and Lil Gun (1905 fps), 1.2" at 150 yards.

Sorry for such a late reply- get mixed up on which posts I've read/replied to or not.

Accuracy with the 300gr XTP is excellent, about MOA to 300. Haven't shot much past that as expect most shots to be around 100 if that.

Have set the XTP load aside to focus on cast bullets in sub and supersonic loads, have a vid of ringing the gong at 300 that I'm trying to figure out how to post.
