New to the group so I will thank all of you in advance.
Looking into the Wolverine 450 but it comes with a 20 moa rail and I think this would make a 100 yard zero almost impossible with this caliber. I could understand it being used for long range shooting but not in a 450. I plan on putting Nikon 2.5 x 10 I already have.

Welcome Moore77, enjoy the ride. Great people on here who have a wealth of knowledge and very willing to share.

I just went to the Savage Arms website and read the information on the Wolverine 110 450 BM . It states on that page that it has a 0 moa rail.

https://www.savagearms.com/firearms/cen ... -wolverine

I have one of these rifles and had no problems shooting sub moa groups at 100 yards with both factory ammo and reloads. It is a a good rifle.
Have not had any problems with it.

any decent optic should have way more than +/- 20 moa of adjustment.

all a +20 moa rail means is that you're going to be in the bottom 1/3 of the optics adjustment range instead of smack in the middle. so only really option then is to go up.

i have a 20moa rail on my blackout for longer distance shooting with subs. its just a basic vortex diamondback 4-12x40.. nothing special about it and IIRC its got 30 moa of adjustment in either direction (60 moa total elevation adjustment)

Thanks plant_one. Found out last night that the information on Buds says 20 moa and the Savage sight says zero moa. I'm calling Savage tomorrow to confirm.

I know for certain that I read it came with a 20 moa rail when I was looking to buy it, because I questioned that myself. Then I just figured since the 450 drops so much at distance was the reason for it. Now if it truly comes with a 20moa rail would be nice to know

Blackout12v. Information on the Savage web sight says the Wolverine has a Zero moa rail other information on the web states a 20 moa. I'll post something after I contact them.

Get on you tube and search ... Model 110 wolverine. It looks like a savage video advertising the wolverine, like 56 seconds long. It states a 20 moa rail.. definitely confusing to the consumers for sure.

It will be interesting to see what Savage has to say, with all different information that's on the web.

I was actually just getting on here to make a similar thread and seen yours.

I was a wanting to build a 450 on a custom action, but most of them only come with 20 moa rails and no option for a 0 moa rail.

Since most of my shots are between 10-100 yards, does anyone know if a 20 moa rail would still allow for close range shots?
