Cast bullet load data

Hey y'all, I am looking very hard at the Mossberg Patriot, 20" 1:24 twist. I'm an avid bullet caster so of course I want to shoot cast in this caliber. I have looked through my Lyman 50th and the Cast Bullet handbook and strange but true there is no load data. I have seen several posts on different forums with load data and am always leery of loads I see online. Is there a particular manual I can purchase for the 450 or maybe a website with legit load data that won't get me in a bind? Google searches aren't cutting it for some reason. I have read that Lil gun, H110 and 4227 are some of the go to powders, but I'd like to see some legit load data at least to get started.

Not a lot of Cast bullet data in the commercial load manuals. The Lyman 50th does have a little bit of date with 300/250 grain cast. I've been extrapolating 45-70 data (for Trap Door and Lever actions) using my Lyman Cast bullet load manual and that has been working out very well. I've resized a number of 45-70 bullets (cast and jacketed to .452") and have tested the 405 grain cast RNFP and Speer 400 grain JSP in the Bushmaster with very good results. I'm shooting a Savage Axis XP bolt action that I rebarreled to Bushmaster using a Rhineland barrel, 16 inches with 1/16" twist for my load testing.

Thank you sir. I will go back and look at my Lyman 50th again. Maybe somehow I missed it. At least that may give me a starting point.

I went back to my Lyman 50th and found some data. Not sure how I missed it before, but if it was a snake it woulda bit me. Looks like I at least have a starting point. I have plenty of 230 Gr cast boolits to start with. Now I have to decide on some heavies.

Try some Unique with the 230 grain cast. Just don't try pushing them too fast. I've found that light loads in the Bushmaster brass tend to make it shrink, not grow longer. I've seen the case length shrink up to .005" from 1,690".

Im shooting my own cast Lyman 457122 330gHP Gould Express bullets with 5744 @ 1600 fps.

The bullet is designed to be cast in WW and shot at under 1500 in 45/70.

I couldnt get accuracy there but 1600 tightened things right up!! It will shoot inside 2" @ 100yards. In my BOLT gun. The load will not cycle My AR reliably.
