ruger american feeding issues

Postby chazz1975 » Mon Sep 14, 2020 8:43 am

I just bought a new Ruger American in 450 BM and am having feeding issues. I have only shot a box of Winchester extended season HP ammo through it, but it seems as though the round is not picked up by the bolt when being pushed forward. Anyone else have any problems with this? Any possible fixes other than return to factory? It was clover-leafing rounds at 100 yards, and Hunting season is right around the corner. Thanks.

Feeding seems to be an ongoing issue with the Bushmaster. Sounds like your rounds are either sitting too low in the magazine OR the magazine may be a loose fit when locked in. If your mag is tight then the most likely culprit is the feed lips that need to be opened up just a tad until rounds feed.
