Tikka build

Postby Graziano8 » Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:00 pm

Just finished a left hand tikka build. 18inch 850 taperless preferred barrel blanks. Going to eventually put a mesa stock on it had to do a lot of inleting made it flimsier then I would like picked it up on eBay for 10 bucks. Only test fired it with ftx but feeds Everything thing I put in it so far (ftx, ttsx, xpb, trex, bear creek) can’t wait to work up a load for it. Have not seen a 450bm tikka so I thought I would share

Without the bipod 8lbs 1oz. I didn’t think that was to bad it’s a whole pound heavier then my ruger with the same scope and rings but 2 inch longer and thicker barrel

You'll appreciate the weight after a long range day working up loads. ;)

Nicely done. Being a left-handed shooter, I appreciate and admire this rifle more.

I own two Tikka T3's and they are my favorite bolt rifles and I own M700's, 110's, 10FP's, 116's, a Cascade, a M77, a CZ, an A-bolt and a M96.
My T3's absolutely were the easiest rifles to develop a load to shoot sub-moa of any I own. My T3's didn't care about bullet seating depth, bullet type be it a 180 grain SMK, SGK, NBT or NAB or very picky about accuracy nodes. Shot great within 1-2 grains either side of a node. Also my T3's both shot MOA with cheapest I could find Federal Power Shock ammo I bought just to get brass for 300wsm and just so I could shoot the 6.5x55 as I didn't want to wait to make some reloads before I could shoot either rifle.
Them Finns just know how to make great shooting rifles.
If Tikka offered a rifle in 450BM undoubtedly I would have bought one.

Great build you have my envy.
