No Boyd’s needed. Stock came out perfect. 8lb.9oz. Balance is still a bit nose heavy but much better than before the stock fill and mercury reducer. No dice at the club today. It’s muzzleloader season in the buckeye state this weekend and ranges are all closed. Oh well, it’s bone chilling cold anyway. Next weekend it is.

Well, I finally got to the range with the axis thumper. I strapped it to the bench and gave it 2 rds downrange and all is good! Brass is good but dirty. I didnt have my chrony tripod adapter so I have no idea what performance was... I used handloads of 296 from 38grn up to 41.5grns with 250grn pills. Shot about 20 thru it. Did Ok but need to work up a load for it. Just acquired an argentine mauser so its on the bench now, then a K98 is on its way. Should have a good stable of bolt guns by the end of summer :D
