Update on the Axis.
Rifle $250 after rebate. I missed the $176 after rebate. [2016 or 17ish]
GM barrel blank $60.
Factory trigger with some work.
The rest were all home made parts. [reamer, gages and muzzle brake]
Original HB stock. no bedding.
The mag took some work. Stock 22-250 with a spacer block added. Some tweaking and bending, but works great.
Last group shot at 100yds off bench.

Nice build Bruce.

I have a 4-5 of those GM blanks, all have been shooters.

Al one of my buddies in MO was just complaining today that his Mauser with a GM barrel caused him to use up too many targets. If he shot just one, he couldn't see the hits, causing him to use multiple targets for each shot. He was bragging, but very happy! His ole Mauser is even lower budget than mine. I think that he has a bedded action in an ole military stock. It is truly amazing how well this cartridge shoots for a case that head spaces off the mouth.
