1st time reloading- 250g FTX

Postby Goose » Sat Nov 27, 2021 4:21 pm

After a solid year of the dies collecting dust, I finally attempted to reload some 250 FTX. 37g Lil Gun seemed to work okay. I’ll settle for this for 3 shots at 100 yards all day long in a 15+ mph crosswind. I’ve reloaded for 10+ years but this was my first straight wall. Best part about it, my 8 year old was measuring out all the powder and running the Press.

Show that young man the attention he deserves! Congrats on having an eager helper. That bullet is capable of impressive accuracy. It seems to excel at the top of the limits. You're right there at the threshold. What rifle and barrel?

Goose:

Where did the 3-shot group picture go? It was indeed nice!

I must have accidentally deleted the picture. It’s back up now.

Gun is a Ruger American Ranch. I plan on getting through this deer season with these then trying something else for next year. I’ve been keeping an eye out for some XPB, TTSX, DeepCurls. I have found a few online but with the shipping added on top they made expensive bullets even more outrageous. I’m not in that big of a hurry.
