Energy at 100 yds. ??

Postby randyf » Wed Jan 04, 2012 11:25 am

I have been doing some calculating on different bullets weights on velocity and energy.

Vel.xVel.x bullet weight
divided by 450,240 = ft.lbs. energy

Example - 300 gr. bullet at 1900 fps = 2405 ft. lbs.

So, that gives me energy at the muzzle.......Anybody know how to calculate the energy at 100 yds - 200 yds. ???

Thanks, Hoot. That's a very informative calculator!

They have a couple for the Iphone..... Nuttin to write home about, though. Winchesters' is the worst. They only give ballistics for the ammo that THEY make. There is one that I use that is decent. I will try to get some info on it later.
