looking for more consistant burning powder than Lil-Gun

I also recently purchased some Hornady 245gr Interlocks to shoot thru my CVA Scout. I'm using Hornady brass and CCI 450 mag primers and taper crimping to .474". I loaded rounds starting at 34.0 gr thru 38.5 gr of Lil-Gun in .3 gr. increments with an OAL of 2.295". I ran all over my MagnetoSpeed chronograph and got 2099 FPS thru 2345 FPS. From my starting load to the end load I had unburnt powder and inconsistant velocities. Can anyone suggest another powder that will allow me to have a cleaner barrel and more consistant velocities? Thanks for your help with this issue.

H110/296 or 300MP might work.

try skipping the expander to create some more neck tension on the bullet. Maybe crimp to .473 might help.

Al,
Thanks for the reply. I have H110 and will give that a try. If that doesn't work I'll see if I can find some of the 300MP. I already seat bullets without expanding cases. I'll also use a little more crimp on bullets.

300mp very close to h110, probably wouldn't see much difference. I got onto it when h110 was in short supply.

About how long is the bearing length on those new Hornadys compared to a 250 FTX?

Al,
The bearing length is close to .375" IIRC.

I made it to the range yesterday to try H110 under Hornady 245gr SP Interlocks. I found a load that gets MOA at 100yds and a velocity of 2445 FPS with no unburnt powder. I'm waiting on second order of these bullets so I can see how they shoot out to 200yds.
