We used this combo last year with awesome results and we'll never go back to the FTX after having them grenade on us on multiple deer in previous years.

How is the recoil and any pressure signs? I put the round together with 33.5 gun lil gun and was happy with accuracy and recoil. Is there another accuracy not up higher but still safe?

I know you were asking fox400, but I thought I’d put in my experience. Different barrels and builds, will take different loads. With that said you should be able to load higher, just make sure you keep an eye on everything.

As to recoil, it depends on your build. I have a lighter weight build 450B using an 18” Midlength gas barrel from Tromix, Ross brake, Slash’s XH buffer, and limb saver pad. I could shoot my stout 275 TSX loads all day with that rifle. I have 2 other builds, one a 20” BHW, rifle gas, target crown, same lower as the Tromix, that weighs quite a bit and has the most recoil of my 450’s. Then I have a bushmaster 16” carbine gas, Izzy brake, and Slash’s buffer that recoils between the 2. It’s also weighs less than the 20”BHW. All using similar loads.

I like 260 grain bullets. Which limits me to factory ammo. The federal 260 fusion will most likely be what I use next year. This season I'll be using the Remington premier accutip. The fusion ammo arrived after I zeroed with Remington and shipped the gun to Michigan. I wish you all the best of luck. I fly out tomorrow. Unfortunately I depart from the socialist republic of New Jersey and I do not take weapons to that airport sic of explaining and showing the free passage clause to them.

Good luck on your hunt, but I highly suggest switching ammo. The Remingtons are very inconsistent loadings, usually have poor accuracy, and the bullet performance has been all over the place, but usually not great. The Fusions haven't been around long, but if they are like the other Fusion offerings, they should work great!

Question, though. Why do you only want 260gr bullets?

Well I only had one opportunity for a shot on a deer up north.
The short story is at 8am the doe was standing quartering towards me at 85 yards in thick woods eyeballing me. I wasn't able to aim for my perfect shot placement due to saplings so I adjusted for the standard shot just behind the shoulder in the open triangular spot between the humerus and shoulder blade, the 200XPB exited the left flank about 6" behind the last rib. Deer spun and took 2 bounds before piling up.

Heading back out later this week in southern Mi.

Very slow this year so far. Corn was still on the fields. Took one doe but must of hit a small branch and deflected. Was over 18” off at about 60 yards for a gut shot. Not what I wanted at all. Found her and butchered her within the hour.

I used a 275gr Barnes TSX over 35gr of Lil Gun out of a Ruger American Ranch. Shot a Coyote @ 110 yds, Doe @ 60 yds and a 10 point buck @ 65 yds. All dropped in their tracks...

Changed over from the FTX to the new Bear Creek Ballistics 240gr all copper round. This round adds like 100 yards more range and much higher energy (3465 FPE) Also going to be reloading this bullet, there is no 450BM bullet that comes close in BC of .265. Most are .15-.2 range

Shot 185 yards out of Ruger Gunsite Scout.
