New to the group and round. I recently ordered 1k of the Hornady HAPs for my 45 and since I had them on hand I figured I'd try them out.
After a little google-fu I found a post by HOOT on this forum discussing a quick load recipe calling for a start at 40.0gr. I started their and worked up in half grains to 43.0. I also loaded one each at 43.3 and 43.6 grains just to check for pressure signs. All rounds were loaded to 2.100". I slapped a magnetospeed on an 18" aero upper and tested.
Has anyone else run this? I'm not getting an pressure signs but I'm also noticing my FPS is all over the place between 2100-2350 and there's no clear nodes. Is it safe to step up the charge more to see if it stabilizes? Can the rifle take much more? Should I chalk it up to load problems and start over?
