275 tsx/xpb accuracy nodes

I was successful this year hunting but not with the bullet drop. I load my 275’s with 33.5 grains of little gun and I get moa accuracy at 100 yards. I have a Leopold 450BM scope and it has an adjustable turret on top to adjust for distance. I set my first shot for 200 yards on the scope for a 175 yard shot and shot under the deer. Cranked it to 250 and aimed 2/3 up from bottom and caught him right on the tip of the elbow. I’m guessing that my bullet is dropping significantly. What would be the next nodes to look for out of an ar platform.

That turret is calibrated for the factory 250gr ftx load

I think leupold will make a new cap if you give them some basic data. Think its about $80 if I recall right.

Or you could wrap tape over that dial, then shoot at 50yd intervals past 100, dialing up, then mark tape.

you'll need to chronograph your load and then feed the data into a ballistics calculator. make your own click chart :)

without a good known velocity, everything else is a WAG.

If I recall correctly, we had this conversation before but it all starts to blur at some point. That recipe is seriously under powered. QuickLoad predicts less than 2k fps MV. That's not to say it wont work, just not optimally. It should easily handle 38gr LG. Accuracy nodes seem to fall every 2-3gr of LG. As plant_one said, if you reload, you need to chronograph.

I load 40gr of LilGun under these bullets with no problems in my 16" BM factory upper with excellent accuracy. Only try this after you work loads up carefully!
