We could have our own Saiga 450's!

haha! Couldn't resist:

Watch those flash hiders though....I could see some ricocheting..

It would be intersting - a AR autoloading some #4 lead shotshells over a light to mod dose of fast powder....especially if it would cycle and actually feed....

so who has the time and courage to pull this one off?

Not I.....

Not to be a wet blanket, but I predict with that revolver intended square nose, none would chamber from an AR magazine. You need the nose to be at least round and ideally a spitzer style in order for them to ride up and into the chamber.

Hi Hoot.

Agreed.

But whenever I see a 40S&W feed 100% with theat trapezoidal bullet and stocky straght case, I am still amazed..

Anyway, I wodner if we could bend the lips up a little on the front of a donor mag to get the squared shotshell tip up enough to catch the ramp / bbl extension?

haha just a funny "prove it can't be done" project...rainy day?

Take care, have a great Memorial day holiday everyone!

Thanks to all who have served!

I load shotshells for my 357 Mag. I think Hoot has a valid point. I also would have concerns about the gas tube port and the muzzle brake.

Don't know how well they would work in Thumper but those things make wicked snake loads in a revolver. I carry some for my .44 mag. and ole cottonmouth just surrenders when I whap him at about 10 feet with them. I think the plastic casing does as much damage as the shot.
My Daddy was wrong when he said: "When a man turns 60 he ought to be able to trade his testicles in on a new set of teeth." Oatmeal and soup don't sound too bad.

I used to load 38SP snake shot for my guys in the Sheriff's Dept. Narcotics squad and ATV Team, (aka Urban Rescue) so they could manage snakes while looking for dope plots and other things. They still used 357 wheelguns back then.

Hey Hoot-ster, I usually see 80+% feeding from empty cartridges. Try it, feed a single round in and put an empty into the mag and then seat that, pull the trigger. My thought is just to try it, we wont know, until we know, and besides it sounds like just so much fun not to try..

huummm???......I remenber making some 45acp shot shells years ago...Seems to me we would have to make a shoulder to head space on. I was cutting down 308 cases to OAL and putting the shoulder on them with a 44spl sizing die...but, that was over 30 years ago.....might be able to fire form 284 cases to do the same thing. Just a WAG
