Can I ask a non-Bushy question? Shotshell questions!

So, there’s a “Reloading for he 450” section, but most of this section seems to be specific to Bushy reloading, also. But, this is also an UN-reloading question, so maybe I’ll get censured for asking…

So, I have some good 1 time reloaded 3” tubes. The problem is they’re all loaded with really big lead shot, lead BB’s and lead #4 buck.

Lead shot is no good for any waterfowl (but back in the day, those #4 buck snagged geese down from way up there!) And I don’t hunt anything else I’d shoot with these, as much as I’d like to do some javalina or coyote or…? As far as I know, there’s no way to salvage all. If I shoot them, all I’ll get is a sore shoulder and good 3” tubes. If I cut them open, I’ll get shot that can be melted for other things, maybe primers and maybe wads, but I’ll lose the tubes. Prying them open is the same- I’ve never been able to pry shotshells open without ruining the tube.

Any advice? If I decide to salvage the tubes, I’ll start looking for a good steel shot load.
