Here's a w16x26 beam rem that got lippy with me and thumper last summer. The big holes were the 450, the little ones .223. A 41/64 transfer punch fit the holes nicely. The 2 big dents that didn't penetrate were a 45-70 300gr lead. The beam center web is .250, the flanges are .345 in thickness. Range around 60-75 yds. The dude with me kept telling me how much more powerful his 45-70 would be. He saw the light (literally-through the beam )after the first shot. 1/2 inch plate stopped it though. Some spitzer shaped fmj's would make a nice hole punch though. I told my boss i was gonna start using the 450 instead of our punches for baseplates, etc. he didn't think that would be osha approved in a fab shop though.
