I'm using a Leupold VX II 2x7. I'm also 54 and wear trifocals. I shoot with a pair of bifocals which has the midrange grind in the right, (my dominate side), and the distance grind in the left, and reading grind in the bottom of both sides. I can see the .45 holes @ 100 yards if they're in the white with this setup, but I have to look hard. I'm hoping to buy a 3x9 Ultra Slam for this thing at some point after I recover from the holiday expenditures.
Mad R, I haven't tried any heat treated boolits, or linotype in the .450B as yet. I'm wondering if the extra hardness would help.
