The barrel dimensions start at 1.2" at the receiver, going to 1" under the handguard and finish up at 0.825" at the muzzle. It's a threaded connection to the receiver using standard galil thread specs.

If you want to cut off some weight, I'm sure you already know where to start whittling. I bet you could get 1-2lbs off that, but hey, you prolly like it for your reasons. Either way, this is great and is prolly the first Galil, done in 450b. I knew Uzi and he'd have been shocked, but then so what!
You did Good Boss, what is your plan for the 308 hole in the receiver for the larger mags??
