Seems I recall that Hornady brass held 60grs. and Starline maybe 61 to overflow. Somebody check me if am wrong.

Thanks guys
I see alot of data for .451dia projectiles with success
I haven't tried any to be opinionated initial thoughts are to stay with .452 I'm wanting to get above a 250gr ftx same ole same ole ho hum load. Preferably fmj 275-300ishgr
I'm not interested in a "match" load or touching holes kind of pattern. 2"-3" groups or less is good in my world. Looking for BIG conetic energy less than 100 yrds.

I played with pistol bullets a little bit. I tried a few different 230gr, they did ok for just blasting ammo. I also tried Sierra 230 FMJ (which are .4515) and Nosler 230 FMJ flat points (have a longer bearing surface). They showed more potential, but I didn't try to dial them in, and they were more expensive. Haven't played with pistol bullets in a quite while because I still have some 225 FTX pulldowns that I picked up for cheap.

My opinion, if you get close to the price of the 225 FTX, just get the FTX, unless of course you have a need for a FMJ.

Haven't tried any 225gr but see alot of positive results. Looking for expansion with kinetic energy with retention at modest velocity so as not to have pass thru so fmj is just what I was tumbling around in my head. I really like the heaviest grain projectile that I can come up with for just about all calibers. I'll give up velocity to a certain point. And I'm not wanting to start any new threads on that subject cause that seems to be an endless debate.

Little late, but maybe this info will help someone else...I measured my fired hornady cases and got 59.5grs avg. Some measured 60, one meausured 59.2, but ive been using 59.5 in Gordons as several measured right at that.
